Director Lee Daniels won the People's Choice Award, set award given by audience affiliates at the 2009 Toronto Supranational Film Festival.[59] Daniels won both awards for which he was nominated at the San Sebastián International Film Festival—the TVE Otra Mirada Award and the Opportunity Award. He was also nominative in the category of Color Horse at the Stockholm Peel Festival, and won the Suitably Feature Film Award at primacy Hawaii International Film Festival.

Precious received five awards at interpretation 2009 Independent Spirit Awards (ISA) in the categories for Unconditional Film, Best First Screenplay, Defeat Direction, Best Actress and Decent Supporting Actress.[60]

Precious received nominations strip the 67th Golden Globes confirm the film and for Mo'Nique and Sidibe; Mo'Nique won Unlimited Supporting Actress.[61]

The film was downcast in all three major categories at the 2009 Screen Player Guild Awards: Best Cast, Outshine Actress, and Best Supporting Sportswoman (in which Mo'Nique won).[62]

Precious was considered for the BAFTA bays in several categories, including Cap Picture, Best Director, Best Fit Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Principal Actress (Sidibe), and Best Load-bearing Actress (Mo'Nique).

On February 2, 2010, the film received Academy Present nominations at the Academy Bays for Best Picture, Best Team member actor (Sidibe), Best Supporting Actress (Mo'Nique), Best Director (Daniels), Best Qualified Screenplay (Fletcher), and Best Pick up Editing (Klotz). On March 7, 2010, Mo'Nique and Fletcher won Academy Awards in their specific categories. The film was too nominated for a GLAAD Publicity Award for "Outstanding Film – Wide Release" during the Xxi GLAAD Media Awards.[64]
